Hi Everybody.
I have been using the Nevo SL's for about 2 years now and find it quite good but there is one problem that occasionaly pops up and that is the frozon screen (lock-up) issue with Nevo's when used with wifi.
I know that since the 2.0.2 release this issue should have been resolved!
I just wanted to know if it is just me and i am doing something wrong of if the issue still persists as i have several which have been updated but still lock-up i have checked to see if the wireless networks are busy, checked the settings on the Access Points (Linksys WRT54GS) according to the recomended settings but still the problem persists, I have even changed the Nevo (twice) I have even updated the firmware several times but after about an hour of non-use it locks-up again!
any ideas anybody.

Hi,
I've had exactly the same problem but I don't use WiFi at all so I would assume that it is unrelated. I have always put it down to Windows CE crashing.

Thanks Jonesy, from the report during the release of Nevo Studio version 2.0.2 it was supposed to fix the problem that I understood was caused by the Nevo losing its wifi connection so it shuts down various parts of its system in order to use all its power in trying to reconnect to the lost wifi signal that it had lost contact with!
I did a test, i set up a wireless network for the Nevo SL using an access point then placed the nevo right next to it for a few hours and did not touch it, after about 4 hours it locked up, I cant understand why its only happening on some of my custom installs.

I must admit i've had very few issues with the freezeing, maybe once every 2-3 months at most. Likewise the varst majority of my CI jobs I have tried to avoid WiFi were possible and have very few customers complaining of the issue. Possibly my problem is unrelated and is just a windows crash, whereas yours is a WiFi issues because it sounds to me as if you incounter it considerably more often.

Hi All.

What settings are you using in the following tab of te remote:

settings
wifi
advanced
advanced

Default in always disabled (best compatibility)
If you have changed this to either Auto or Always Enable (Better battery life) This may explain the problem.

My understanding of this feature has to do with the beacon interval timing. If they are out then you will experiance drop outs.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Sydinstaller.
just checked the settings and it is set to "Always Disable" i never change these settings due to the problems that can arise.

Thanks for your input.

Hi Jonesy247.
I do think that my problem is Wifi related but not sure where about it is!
can something externally cause this?
