As a dedicated Harmony lover (I own 3!) I bit the bullet and finally purchased an Nevo SL in the Limited Edition Glossy Black!

As this is my first use of a touchscreen remote, I wanted to find out if it's worth investing in a screen protector.

I know many of the Brando ones are rated well for PDA's, but they have a sticky back.

Is the screen just as responsive with a screen protector ?

Are there any recommended screen protector brands for use with the Nevo SL ?

I have 2 Nevo remotes. One of them for almost a year and have found no need for a screen protector. The screens are still scratch free and new looking. I use both remotes every day for many hours.

Dark Knight - The Nevo SL was one of the reasons I decided to source custom cut screen protectors. The smooth glass on the Nevo is much more slick than the RTI T3 I was used to and it shows every finger print. For more info check out this post before making your decision

I wouldn't want my little lad to to get hold of the Nevo. I have an old Harmony remote which can be used, but it also depends on wifey keeping the Nevo away from him!

It just strikes me that the PDA market is so rich with screen protectors but there are no die hards in this forum who think a touchscreen remote requires one.

I agree about the finger print issue.... I'll take a look at the Boxwave protectors.

I agree! It seemed so strange to me that I ran out to get a protector for my $100 smartphone and there I was handling remotes that cost 5-10x the price with nothing. I guess the difference is that the living room/home theater is a more controlled environment than what we subject our cell phones to.

Now if only I could figure out a way to prevent the buttons from wearing down on my favorite hard button controllers ;-)

I have a 5-year-old daughter, she´s using my Nevo every day. Beforce we had the Nevo it was a Marantz RC3200, I think she started with that at the age of 3, too.

I think it´s one of Nevo´s advantages. She has her own pages on the remote, only kid´s TV channels.

@topic: We use the Nevo since some months (and as I said also my daughter), the screen´s still fine, no, it´s like just taken out of the box for the first time!
