Hello.

I have noticed that many posts in the Nevo forum relate to "learning" IR codes. I have installed over 100 of these remotes and I have only had to learn an extremely small amount of IR. UEI have one of the largest (if not the largest) IR code librarys around so why arn't you using it?
So many of the problems I read about should not even have been a problem if the installer knew how to use this product to its full potential. Here in Australia (I have no idea if this is the same in other parts of the world) the remote can only be purchased at specialist stores and hence are programmed by installers that have been to the training courses and know how to programme it.

This remote needs a reasonable amount of knowledge of how a control system should work. If you do not have this knowledge then ask the store where you a looking at purchasing the remote from to help you, it may cost a little more but you will have a fully functioning controler at the end of the day.

I am sorry if I offened anyone but it realy s@#$s me when people blame a product when they don't know or have not even read the instructions that it came with.

Don't just dive head first into something without at least reading the instructions.

Any way thats my bit for the year. :)

The library is not complete for some devices. I had to learn commands for my Mitsu DLP tv and Onkyo receiver because the Nevo library did not include them. I also noticed that there are several commands included for a device that do nothing. This is when using model based setup on mynevo.com. For the most part 99% of needed commands are there right from the Nevo library.

Well, they have, but not everything´s working. In my livingroom for example I took the codes for an InFocus LCD, Pioneer DVD-R, Rotel DSDX02 Receiver and a Philips HDTV Sat-Receiver.
The only device that worked correctly was the LCD-TV. The Pioneer model was not in the database and the other two devices did not work (I also checked mynevo.com).

But I don´t think it´s a big problem. Learning the codes is fast and easy...

Oppo DVD player is the only thing I had to learn every code for. Other than that, there may have been one or two, but most codes worked perfectly for my equipment. Great database for this remote. Much better than Philips Pronto.
It's not just a hobby, it's an obsession...
