Hi there,

Having programmed the Nevo to control my Sky+ box here in the UK everything works well.

I then tried to setup a macro to turn subtitles on/off.

This needs the following keypresses;

1. Help
2. Menu right arrow
3. Select

When pressed manually this works exactly as expected.

However when chaining the three commands into a macro (with the standard 500msec delay between them) it falls over at step 2.

It appears that the command is sent for too long as you can see the menu change from off to on (as it should before select is pressed) but then it changes back to off again.

I can mimic this behaviour manually by pressing the Menu right arrow key for longer than usual where the menu alternates between on & off for as long as the key is held down.

Why is it that it works manually but when in a macro it does not?

It is one of the IR commands that cannot be learned from the original Sky+ remote so I cannot get it to learn a brief button press.

Is there a way to overcome this problem so I can use the macro please?

Just one anomoly of the Sky+ box - doesn't have a discrete Power Off code either.

Thanks & regards,

The work round for Power Off is a macro consisting of "SKY" followed by "Power On/Off".

Sorry, can't help you with the Menu Right, but I was wondering why the 500ms delay between commands in the macro? Ok, I have a SKY, not SKY+, box but I've never needed to add a delay between commands (even when using my Pronto, which is far quicker at performing macros).

You could try removing the delays; otherwise you could try pasting the SKY device from my Nevo config file ("Mike Jenkins' Nevo" in the Complete system NVO file area) and using the Menu Right command from that.

Thanks for the reply - I had already figured out the Power Off workround.

Why bother with one keypress when two will do? :-)

I have had no luck with the Menu right I'm afraid...I removed all the delays (they were there for caution) with no change and the Right command from your setup does not operate my Sky+ box I'm afraid.

I cannot seem to learn the Menu right from my original Sky+ remote either...:-(

If only UEI were able to build in a feature to shorten the duration I'm convinced that would solve my problem.

Thanks for trying :-)

Kind regards,
