Just purchased my first Nevo and I am having problems connecting wirelessly to either the Nevo Sudio or Media server.

I have set up a project and enabled both Wifi and Media Zones. I have set up a media zone and downloaded via usb to the Nevo.

I have connected to the wireless router (Belkin) and set up the necessary encryption.

The WiFi icon on the Nevo is displayed and is active.

When I select the media zones the zones are displayed but are inactive. The Media server is active on the PC. The Wifi icon is actively flashing.

I also cannot download wirelessly and the Nevo is not listed in my CHCP listing on the router.

Can anyone assist please??

Is Nevo player running on your pc?

Can you access media from studio emulation, it should work from studio without the nevo.

I'll ask the same question.

Is Nevo player running on your pc?

Can you access ans play media from nevo studio emulation, it should work from studio without even using the nevo.

Phil,

I got it working for a few minutes. Wi-Fi was working great. (I disabled all the encryption and it started working.)

But to answer your question yes emulation works fine from studio. This is just Wi-Fi config problem now. Still don't know why it worked for 15 minutes and then stopped.

In the WI-Fi config, change all power settings to never turn off for starters.
In settings, Wi-Fi, Advanced, go to the Advanced tab and set "power save mode" to "Always Disable" and the slider below it to "Best Performance"(All the way left).

I look at the Basic Wi-Fi settings to verify that I am connected to the right network and that I have the correct IP address (I recommend using a static IP) in the "IP Information" tab.

If you cannot get the Nevo to connect to your network, after making certain your network is up, turn off the Nevo and then back on to reset it. Then check your settings again.

Keep in mind that the Nevo gets squirrely if it looses the wireless connection and may need to be reset.

Once the Nevo is working you can play with encription etc.

Hope this helps.

Phil- Whatchu talkin' 'bout, Willis?

Are you going to be around this evening? I have a few questions re: Audio Request/NEVO software adapability.

If there's a wireless router in one part of the house and some of the listening/control locations are out of range, are you using a WAP or another wireless router/switch?
My mechanic told me, "I couldn't repair your brakes, so I made your horn louder."

You may have dead spots or interference.

Go to setting, wifi, advanced to get the wifi signal strength meter. Keep in mind that the meter may not uppdate very fast so stay in each location for 30 seconds to a minute. If you find low signal you can check for interference from phones by unplugging the power to your phone base(s) and also remove the batteries from the handsets. If this changes the signal level you may be able to relocate either your phone base or the router locations.
You may be having issues with the router configuration with 2 routers. Do a search in the installers lounge for WAP, lotsa good info there.

Have fun!

My wifi works, but when you power down, and restart the PC at any point, you have to press in the reset button on the side of the Nevo to get the wifi going again.
Its a bit of a pain, but I usually leave the PC on all the time to combat this
