Springs,

You didn't answer the important question:

How many Nevo SL's have you delivered to clients?

That's ok, I will bring it over here. I believe you said in the other post that you had tested ONE about a year ago and have never delivered any. Is that about right?

I am just trying to understand how you have all this knowledge about the product? You seem like such a subject matter expert on the Nevo SL....

Oh, I know. You read other peoples posts and then mouth it back so that it looks like you are one smart fella.

I bow in your presence....

Dave,

How would I not take offence to all this?

You have resorted to not much more than personal attacks in 2 threads.

I know you were waiting to jump all over me and say I didn't program enough remotes to be an expert... but I guess / hope I passed that test by shear numbers.

There are 2 other guys in this thread who state the piece is not a ready for prime time. I don't see you attacking them. Is Jim an idiot because he doesn't use the remote? How about lalartu? Dumb and inexperianced too? Now treated them with some measure of respect or at least said nothing.

You said that you don't agree but I am the stupid, inexperianced, sophmoric, name your gripe person.

You have yet to appologise for ONE PERSONAL ATTACK. I have remained very cool about this whole thing and have not said one nasty thing to, or about you.

I can say I am extermely disappointed. I also can't believe that you would actually talk to someone the way you posted about me. In all seriousness if you talked like that to my face I might hear you out. But some people would knock your teeth down your throat.

Now I know some people are internet tough guys. Really easy to say nasty things to people when they can't reach right out and do something too you. But I don't feel that any of it was nessesary. And that one guy is right.. you pissed all over his thread. You attacked me for no good reason. Well then again Nevo seems to be a big part of your website so perhaps that is reason enough.

I do find it odd that Nevo supporters can't seem to defend the product or even fix it. But they sure can say nasty things to people that civilized people don't dare say to one another. You know... I don't even think things like you typed about me.

"How about answering these few simple questions (if you can)?" I am perfectly capeable of answering questions to the best of my abilites and knowledge.

"So, answer the questions I posted and let's see exactly where you expertise lies." Is the number of remotes I have done passing of that test there?

"When you can demonstrate your ability with proven client installations, than I and others may listen to you. Other than that, I will find the time to dis-credit all of your stupid posts." How can you say your are not a vendicitve person when you say things like this? Since I have done all those remotes Am I worth listening too? Apperantly not in your eyes.

"If you are such a subject-matter expert on remotes, how about answering these questions" Some would say I am something of an expert due to years spent and results achieved.

"You are an accomplished programmer and you could be doing good things."
That is the only polite thing you have said since this started.

"I bow in your presence...."
Couldn't do it could you. Couldn't leave on a decent note or tone.

"I have nothing against you personally and I would like to continue to interact with you." You could talk to me or about me or anyone the way you did and claim its not personal. Seems like you have a lot against me personally. At least I hope you do, I mean I would hate to think you just talk to people like that...

The real thing that erks me about it all is you leave those statements just out there. You have not resended a single one.

Why would it be personal?

Well, my two cents says that the NevoSL is ready for prime time. No I haven't programmed hundreds of remotes like you guys, but I have personally programmed all of my remotes (as I am a electronic geek) and I have to say that I like the NevoSL better than the Pronto TSU2000 and TSU7500, Logitech Harmony, etc that I have used. Yes, are there a few issues with trying to use the remote with Media Center, yes there are. But coupled with a NevoLink, I feel that this remote will eventually surpass the Pronto in all respects.

I can attest that those having issues with macros, etc. most of it is user error (or possibly older version of firmware/software). Support could be better for the NevoSL, but if the device is not MECHANICALLY broken and you are getting software/firmware updates, who needs support anyway.

I had a buddy of mine that stopped by and I showed him my remote and programming and he was amazed because he does it for a living (using Prontos).

Again, I repeat, once the NevoSL get timers, it will most definitely be better than the Pronto. That is the only feature that is missing that I like about the Pronto. Besides, the main reason for using the timers in my situation is to turn off all power after I fall to sleep (which isn't that great of an issue).

A really great feature of the NevoSL is the wifi capability. Sure, the Pronto has RF, but with a LAN at home, the NevoSL is better suited for the future in my point-of-view. You can control your Media Center PCs, Sonos, and other devices that are connected to your LAN.

This is only my opinion. Everyone is entitled to his/her own opinion.

For anyone looking at buying one of these, I just want to say I agree with Mitch above. I just got mine last night, and I have to say after years of being a Philips Pronto enthusiast, I think this Nevo blows them away. Maybe not the new 9600, but the 7000 definitely. Programming this thing is much easier as well. I was skeptical about buying it, but now that I have it, I'm thrilled with it.
It's not just a hobby, it's an obsession...
