Anyone getting album art to the Nevo?
If so how where is it categorized on the hard drive etc?

Don't know about the Nevo in particular but the album art is allways in the folder of the actual album. If you open the album and start playing it with lets say Windows Media Player and you do not get any cover art to show up on your computer then it will not show on any other device. WMP has a button for automatically finding the cover art on the internet, this will save the art in the album's folder and you should be good to go.

Album art in the folder is the key.
Thanks.

So you've got album art running on the NevoSL with Twonkyvision?
I've got a few questions for you in this case....
Are you running Nevo 1.2?
Do you have an iTunes Library XML file listed in twonkyvision's setup?
Do you use jpegs for your image format or something like gifs or bitmaps?
Is there a particular naming convention I should follow for the album art file?
I'm currently running my NevoSL with a Roku soundbridge and twonkyvision. All my tracks have album art in the ID3 tags, and a select few that I've been playing with have an image file in the album directory named Artist - Album.jpg ... these are sized roughly 300x300 pixels. I've got "album art" selected to show in the NevoSL.
However, to date I haven't seen any appear :-/

Do you have the Artwork button pressed under settings? I ripped my music using WMP and it put 3 image files in the CD's folder. A 10k jpeg and a 3k jpeg image labeled AlbumArt_{84C3762A-F14F-464F-B55C-D3256B5D33EE}_Large.jpg and AlbumArt_{84C3762A-F14F-464F-B55C-D3256B5D33EE}_small.jpg. The third image is a 3k image labeled AlbumArtSmall.jpg

Album art will only work on the SL if you use NevoServer - not Twonky

Not true - I use Twonky and album art works just fine. Trick is to ensure the JPG is in the same directory as the file you are trying to play.

I'm getting mixed results. Two albums are displaying their artwork on the NevoSL with TwonkyVision. They're both 200x200 jpgs. I've resized the artwork jpegs in several other folders to 200x200, restarted the twonky server and still no improved results ... just those same two albums are the only ones showing art.

I think I've got part of the problem figured out ... it looks like on Twonky, in content section, where you specify your folders for music, photos, and videos, you can't specify filters in the music section. Normally for music you would say M|/share/music to tell twonky that it's only music in that folder ... well, it needs to look for photos in there too for the cover art evidently. Weird and stupid, but looks to be true. The reason why I was getting weird results is because I did a partial generation of cover art, then turned on the M| filter for Music only.
But that's only part of the problem. It still seems flakey. a) the Media Zone interface regularly crashes. b) it's slow as hell to discover that a zone is available for play c) still having issues showing lots of album art.

ALSO!!!
It looks like you can't have any color management profiles embedded in the jpegs. Unfortunately it appears that tons of cover images on Amazon have embedded color management profiles and these get copied in to the cover art files which won't allow it to be displayed on the nevo.
Any idea how to script some software to rip out the color management profiles?

But wait, there's MORE!
It's not just the color management profiles....
Here's information on an image that works:
File NameJohnny Cash - Johnny Cash Sings His Best.jpg Document TypeJPEG Image File Size19860 bytes Color ModelRGB Depth8 Pixel Height200 Pixel Width200
JFIF Properties
Density Unit0 JFIF Version1.1 X Density1 Y Density1
And here's one that does not .... this one had it's color profile stripped out.... I think a key issue is the appearance of this "TIFF properties" business, along with a change in the density unit from 0 to 1 ... whatever the hell that is.
File NameJohnny Cash - (Love, God, Murder) Love.jpg Document TypeJPEG Image File Size13529 bytes Color ModelRGB Depth8 DPI Height72.009 DPI Width72.009 Pixel Height200 Pixel Width200
JFIF Properties
Density Unit1 JFIF Version1.1 X Density72 Y Density72
TIFF Properties
Resolution Unit2 X Resolution72.009 Y Resolution72.009

Ok, this is my final answer ... and it's fairly short.
You don't need album art as a seperate file in the album folder in order for the NevoSL to display it. In fact it doesn't look like it ever gets used.
Here's the real key.... the image embedded in the id3 tag (probably want to make sure it's a recent version of id3) MUST BE a JPEG image. A lot of software out there that automatically drops album art in your mp3's will opt for the bigger better quality PNG images ... these will not load on the NevoSL.
The software I'm using now is on linux ... it's called quite simply albumart .... I turned off Amazon.com for it and just look up album art using the other sources .... scroll through the downloaded covers until you see a decent looking one that's a JPEG image, apply it to your files and that's that.

Has anyone managed to get album art displaying when using Windows Media Connect as the server? Or is there anything I could try to get it working?
Album art displays correctly when using NevoServer, but I need to use WMC because of it's ability to play DRM WMA tracks.
WMC is version 2.0, and Nevo SL is running the latest v2 firmware.
