ok i'm looking for some help...

my nevo at home does not work ok or so good. first use of the day my touch screen does not respond to touches....i have to press a hard button first then my macro button on the screen to work...this is nuts...

it used to work just fine.....

i have upgraded the firmware to current saturday to hopefully fix this problem...no luck.

it also does not respond very well to touch screen operations after about 10 minutes.

Ed, I have just started working with the NevoSl over the past 3 days. I have had similar problems but, that was after ONLY 2 days trying to get the POS to even accept the file. I am really starting to regret the purchase. I agree, this is nuts.

Wouldn't you be pissed if you were a customer who was sold this.

Sorry had to slip that in...

This is the buggiest POS I have ever seen. Just spent several hours on a configuration file, and as long as you don't save your work you will probably be fine! :( NevoStudio corrupted the project file. Now when I restore the project from Nevo itself, and try to move a button around, it just moves the outline and not the button. Then when you press the button it pushes from its original postion and then transforms itself to where you put the damn outline. Who in there frickin' right mind would carry this as a dealer and recommend it too customers when you spend all this time and it corrupts your files.. sounds like an awesome business model to me if you want to go bankrupt... i sure as hell wouldn't hang my name on this product.

Don't even think about buying this used/2nd hand either, because the snotty bastards in tech support will tell you to go to hell even when all your asking for is a CD because the damn installation has problems with corrupt cab files.

Sorry for the rant... but this is just BS!

Ed,

I joke about that all the time. I have a nack for getting glitchy stuff or outright broken stuff for myself. Like a Samsung DLP that actually had to be repalced. I worked on dozens in the field and not a one had problems like mine.

I think the thing that really annoyed me about the nevo was that first contact I had with UEI. It got worse when I saw all these dealers just jumping on it harrowing it without ever using it. I thought the IR spray was just awesome but nothing else on it did anything for me. Then I come in here and read more and more how INTEGRATORS speced it without so much as a training. If I were a customer and was used as a guinepig... Ohh wait as a dealer I am always used as a guine pig...

Anyways... I have loads of stuff lying around my house that was supposed to be great that out right sucked. Ofent times the rep or the distro wont take it back. If I had to pay for it.. to do there beta and development. Well that annoys me. But then what they did when they didn't understand my questions... sorry they said sorry for that.

Have they said sorry for marketing this product to CIs without really thinking it out? NOPE.

I renew my earlier comment.. SELL IT AT BEST BUY. Right next to the Windows Media Centers. DIY guys love messing with the things and don't seem to mind the bug hunts. Customers that paid a PROFESSIONAL or an EXPERT in the field have surprisingly little patience for that sort of thing.

Ivs,

Sounds like you did a restore from the Nevo Menu. This will unfortunatley cause the phantom button issue you are seeing. Unlikely , no other action would have caused this issue, except restore.

Now that you have this mess, the best you can do is to try and link the phantom buttons back to their original state. This means to double-click on the phantom button and try and re-acquiant it to the original button.
