Hi,

This is my first time visitng the site. I've recently taken on Nevo SL as a dealer in UK. I havne't had any experience prior to the Nevo when programming remote but am so far finding it a toal breeze. I deal with Loewe LCDs and Plasma, and they have recently released new IR codes in decimal for direct selection of AV inputs. For example, AV1 is Dec number 114 (converts to 72 on Hex which is what the new Nevo Studio allows you to manually write in). I know practically nothing about writing code.

I do know that simply "72" will not work, and I guess the Hex code i will require is going to be hell long and probably starting with "0000" (which i believe is to tell the Nevo it has learnt the code). Beside this I am pretty much stuck. Does anyone have a complete code that I can copy and paste or can anyon ebe kind enough to point me in the write direction. Loewe UK Technical also have no experience with Dec or Hex code writing on customisable remotes and I dont expect them to, and have most probably released these numbers via request (although i wish they released the Entire Hex code).

Thanks in advance to all who read and reply.

HI There,

To directly paste in Hex code, it must be complete hex code, not binary and not the abbreviated hex offered by some manufacturers. A complete hex code usually has several necessary elements including Lead in, repeating code, etc, Lead out, etc.

Not that I can tell you everything you need to know about hex code, but it needs to be NEC hex or Philips Pronto hex to work.

Usually, a manufacturer supplies portions of hex code but not the entire thing. They tend to give you a few of the bits at the end of the code, which you would replace as the last few bits in their code, to get it to manage new tasks. Their entire hex string is usually available from them and you take their "sniplet" and replace the last few codes with their sniplet.

I am sorry this is a bit vague but that is the way hex code is sometimes.

There are ways to take a manufacturer hex "sniplet" and convert it to a complete hex code, in order for the Nevo SL to recognize.

Good Luck and keep researching - Dave

Hey, many thanks. That actually helped me a lot because now I know exactly what I should be searching for. I'll get on the phone to Loewe first thing tomorrow.

Unit,
You can download the Philips ProntoEdit4 program from the "Files" section of this site. The cool thing is that it will allow you to go into any Pronto configuration (ccf) and find the hex codes for the functions of a device.
There are lots of ccf files posted on this site that have discreets that aren't always found in the regular codes. So you can get the hex codes, post them into NevoStudio and use them in your projects.

Hope this helps.
