I'm sure this is easy but I'm not able to figure it out. Trying to assign the favorite channel widget to one of the top hard keys on a Q50.

I have the widget imported. So how can I assign it to a key?

BTW - I have found the NEVO Pro Studio a easy switch over from Prontoedit. I had a working file in a couple of hours. Slick stuff.

Thanks for any help.

Open the Widget and add a Hard Button Block and a Multiplexer and connect them as in pic below (in green). In the Hard Button Block assign it to the Hard Button you want to use (e.g Function Key 4).

After you close and save the Widget you will after to drag it on the Page you want again for changes to take effect.

Then select the Page it is on and from the 'Properties and Actions' window select 'Properties' / 'Inheritance from page collection' then select 'NO' for the Hard Button group (e.g. Function Keys) you have assigned the Widget to.

You will also have to reassign the other Hard Buttons in that group if they are Inherited from page collection.

Cheers

Hum.... I got the widget changed just like you have pictured. After I close the widget, I don't see how you assign it to Function Key 4. I can trag the widget and place it on the page and the icon for the first channel appears on the page. Just not sure how to assign it to the hard key as opposed to a icon button on the page.

It is working. I see the icon and the F4 key assigned. I guess I wasn't expecting the icon on the page.

Thanks!

So you don't want the icon?

It's alright if it can't be taken out. I'm guessing you might say I can get rid of it some how?

BTW - what exactly is the NC-50 used for? All my componets are IR driven. Does it provide any benefit for IR. I installed it to my remotes job but didn't assign any component to individual ports.

Here's what I got:

Sony 40" LCD TV
Yamaha RX-V2700
Sony BDP-S550 Blu-Ray
Yamaha CD player
Comcast Motorola HD PVR
JVS DVD/VCR comb deck
Yamaha dual deck cassette player
Sony DSS HD Satellite STB

Looks as if it supports devices with RS-232, z-way, etc. but given my componets is there any reason to use it?

Delete all Blocks except for the Hard Button, Switch and Actions Blocks. Join the Hard Button Block to the Switch. That's all you need.

The NC-50 is used for IR and RS232 (2-way) control of your devices so you don't have to point the remote at your devices which makes it more reliable...use it!

See the training video on Nevo's site (Dealers section).
'Adding and programming NevoConnect base stations into a Job project.'

You will need to buy four double emitters with a single 3.5mm mono mini plug or get a five pack.

You could use a RS232 cable with a single 3.5mm mono mini plug for your Yamaha RX-V2700 and maybe your Sony TV (depends on your model) if you want 2-way control. You would need to learn how to create widgets to do 2-way.

You can also use the front IR Blaster of the NC-50.

Sorry I made a mistake about the widget.

You will need to replace the Switch Block with a Toggle Block.

Hmm, but I wonder if the toggle will be remembered when the page is left.

I'm assuming that's what those Global Flags were for; to remember what was the last channel that was cycled through.

But not if the remote is reset or power cycled (battery runs flat)

D.
