Hello, sorry if I duplicated this post. I have an old RF-20 and would like it to learn commands from the new CC-Google tv RC (IR and Bluetooth). I have tried learning with the CC plugged in and unplugged to power (my RF could learn Roku remote commands if the unit was unplugged). Anyway, no luck-never shows that a command was accepted on the RF. Has anyone tried to do this and, more to the point, has anybody had success? The CC remote is pretty good, but the CEC never functions 100%, leaving one device powered on and others off-hence I want to set up a simple macro. Thanks

The CC-Google tv isn't IR controllable, no IR pickup or sensor. Yoiu can control it by the bluetooth remote, or by hdmi-cec. And CC-Google tv can control your tv volume with IR baster, it sends but doesn't pick up IR commands.

Edmund, thanks, but not sure we're talking about the same thing. I want to have my URC RF-20 learn the codes from the CC remote. Are you saying that remote doesn't have IR, which would make it impossible for the RF-20 to learn it. I'm pretty sure the CC remote works on both IR & Bluetooth, as it controls my AVR pwr and vol when I aim it directly at the AVR. Thanks again

It only has IR for audio & tv's. Just because a roku will switch to IR when the power is off, doesn't mean all brands do. In fact I can't think of another brand that does. Anyways the Chromecast is usually buried behind the tv, not up front like Roku box. Its like pendant hanging down from the hdmi input on the back of the tv, no way an IR commands would reach.
