Hello all:
I was going to attempt to scan and conform a manual to a PDF file. I figuerd I could scan the document, save it as anything, convert it to greyscale, and save as PDF. The problem is that I have only been able to create single page documents. Furthermore, I was uncertain what resolution was appropriate. Any suggestions would be helpful. This is on a Mac, using Adobe Photoshop 5.0, and or Adobe Acrobat Reader 5.0. Is there another way?

thanks,

You'll need to get the images into something that supports multiple pages to create a multiple page document.

thanks for the link and comment. The manual is for the Sony STR-DE875, which I received last week. I had wanted to scan it to upload. "Acrobat Reader" does not appear to be able to create or save a new multi-page document, "AdobePhotoshop" can create and save a single page in the pdf format. But I guess I would have to purchase "Adobe Acrobat" to do what I am looking to do.

You don't need to purchase Adobe Acrobat to this. You just need to go to the Adobe website (click on the Adobe logo above) and download the PDF Printer Driver.

Then you need to use a program, like Daniel said, that creates multiple page documents (Word, PageMaker, QuarkXpress, numerous cheaper page layout programs), and then simply print your document to the PDF printer instead of your regular printer.

Go to Adobe. Download the printer. Install it.

If you have problems, email me.
