After wander around all these forums for the past 14 months I managed to come across one caring sharing aficionado. You would have thought with all these well established aficionados there would have been more. I can't but thing to myself in the immortal words of George Orwell that all aficionados are equal but there are some more equal than others. It seems that 3 major players are as follows: Daniel Tonks, God and Dale Crawford.
It seems apparent that disable people should not be involved with home theatre. Plenty of sarcasm no action. WHAT DO YOU THINK?

E. P., (If I may be so presumptious as to speak for others), Seriously, we certainly mean no disrespect. A lot of us have our areas of interest, and, more narrowly, our areas of expertise. Most of the few folks here who know specific model numbers and specifications of electronic devices are those who are in the retail business. I personally am an electrician, with a lot of interest and experience in audio/video, residential, commercial, and even automotive. I'm a doer, meaning that, while I may have my opinions on equipment, I'm by no means a walking catalog. When one of us reads a post, especially one requesting help with a topic of specific equipment, or special use, most of us may have little knowledge or experience with that particular issue. Being the simple, smart-assed creatures many of us are, we are faced with the daunting challenge of deciding whether to respond inanely or not at all. Naturally, a certain percentage of us fall into the snare, and just can't resist posting a sarcastic response. Please don't take it personally. With few exceptions, we're kind-hearted souls who like to help others when we can, but have to play like kids when the opportunity arises. It's what keeps us young (and sane, for those of us who do this for a living). As far as action goes, it's tough to do most of what we do via the internet, or even telephone. It's mostly a hands-on type of work. I happen to be an installer, and I understand types of electronic equipment, but I couldn't tell you where to look for an item with a certain ability. There's always someone who can help you, if you're patient enough. Give us a couple of days. Not everyone has the time to get to their computer every day and surf the RCForum. Please stick around. A few more from brother George:
"Men can only be happy when they do not assume that the object of life is happiness."
"To see what is in front of one's nose requires a constant struggle."
"If liberty means anything at all, it means the right to tell people what they do not want to hear."
"Many people genuinely do not wish to be saints, and it is possible that some who achieve or aspire to sainthood have never had much temptation to be human beings."
"Society has always seemed to demand a little more from human beings than it will get in practice."
"War is peace. Freedom is slavery. Ignorance is strength."

Are you saying that you are having problems getting information on equipment that can be used by a disabled person? If so, as said above, keep asking. There are many of us on RC that are more than willing to help you if we can. ... Greg :-)

WE CAN SHOUT, TOO, IF YOU ARE HARD OF HEARING!!! I think this is the type of thing Mike was alluding to (that's the e.p. Mike, not the mr.k. Mike). This message was edited by djy on 08/25/02 08:19.04.

Never at any given time ever I been unbelly grateful to the aficionados of Remote Control Central for their many hours and hard work they put in to achieve their objective with their remotes. Ifuly understand that is a free service given to all colours creds sexuallity and disabilities. I do object to the sarcasm wich was directed on two occasions. So I thought I rattle a few cages. Seems to have worked.
As I seen from your repply you have done one day course in how to write in big letters. I guess in life good people will be good people and morrons will be morrons. Personnally wishing you health and happiness and good fortune.

MAN!!! . . . you got no sense of humor, do ya? But you seem to list a bit, think it might be because of that big-assed CHIP on your shoulder??!!
I do object to the sarcasm wich was directed on two occasions. Only two? . . . stick around, we'll see if we can't raise the ante a bit. As I seen from your repply you have done one day course in how to write in big letters. I guess in life good people will be good people and morrons will be morrons. Oh, heavens-to-Betsy, NO!!!! I graduated Cumma Sum Laude from the Evellyn Woodski Big Chief School of Big Letters & Slow Reading! And I Lettered in Moronic Inanities (All 6 years, thank-you-very-much)! Personnally wishing you health and happiness and good fortune. Same right-back-atcha! Ya'll come back now . . . ya hear?

Tisk, tisk, tisk.
If you think this forum is full of sarcasm, you should visit the custom installers forum.
The word Bose has captured all the excitement right now there.
And HEY! Welcome to the Looney bin!

I can't even get www.hyperdictionary.com to work.

GOOD NEWS! You all win. Rather put up with 10 remotes than this forum were the majority have got their heads where the sun don't shine. Oh well, I guess sh*t happens!

Are the 10 remotes really less trouble than being here?
It seems all this started with the first post of this thread. Ever heard the expression: "You can catch more flys with honey, than you can with vinegar"?
I'll leave it at that.
