Where is the best place to ask for a Remote brand recommendation? If this isn't the right forum, let me know where to re-post this please.

I have an older MX-500 which works pretty well, but I just bought an Xbox 360, and now I have to re-do my entire home theater hookup, and am not excited about manually punching the millions of buttons it takes to get the "one button" macros created for my wife:

My goal is to assign one button to "Music" and have it turn everything off, turn on the receiver, and set it to the proper input (radio), then leave the unit on the "control the receiver" page.

Assign one button to "HIDEF" and turn on the TV, receiver, HiDef unit, and change the TV to the proper input, and the receiver to the proper input, and leave the remote on the "control the hidef" page.

Same for DVD.

Same for TIVO.

Same for XBOX 360.

I'd like to be able to do the programming from my laptop, as the combination of presses on the MX-500 take quite a while to get correct.

I really like the soft-labelled hard buttons of the MX-500. What's the most cost-effective remote to buy? Where to buy it?

Thanks for your time.

(Anyone want to buy a used MX-500?)
