Hi

I am trying to find discrete code for a Hitachi plasma for use with AMX or RTI.
From the Hitachi website I have a list of IR codes but I don't know the format or how to convert them to RTI hex.
For example the website gave me -

Power On - 50AF 3EC1
Power Off - 50AF 3FC0
Video 1 - 50AF 3EC1
And so on.

Can anyone please help me and explain how I can convert these to codes I can use in RTI remotes.

Thanks
Matt

I don't know if this will help you any, since I don't know what RTI or AMX accepts, but the code you listed basically says it is using NEC protocol (I only know this since when IR codes are given in that format and not specifically mention the protocol, it usually means NEC protocol). The first group of numbers (50AF) is the device code, and the second group is the command code. You can essentially ignore the second half each group (ie AF in 50AF, and C1 in 3EC1), since they are just the hexadecimal compliment of the first half (FF-50=AF). So for POWER ON, it would be device number 80 and command code 62.

If Pronto hex code would be more useful to you, you can use Makehex or some other conversion program to generate the hex codes with the information you have.

Yes, the Hitachi Plasma TV's do use NEC1 protocol, device 80. The 3E hex is the function number 62 decimal (and 3F is 63). Why is Video1 the same code as PowerOn?

I think the RTI or AMX can use Pronto Hex format, and with MakeHex you can easily generate all the Pronto Hex strings for NEC1 protocol, device 80.
