I purchased a new SONY KDL55HX820 TV about a month ago and have yet to find discrete Power On and Power Off codes for it. Other discrete codes work just fine. I have tried the discrete codes from the 2010 model Sony monitors but they don't seem to work. Any suggestions? For me this will be a deal breaker for this TV as I need to have these codes to use with a control system. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Well, we could play 20 questions, but why not tell us which codes you have tried for discrete Power? And in what form did you try them?

robertc2k's 1st and 3rd and MacrossZero's Hex are all Sony12 device 1, function 46. This is the standard Discrete On used by Sony for years. The 2nd Hex is Sony12, device 1, function 56 which was used in a few non-USA TVs. The 4th is Sony20 device 26.121, function 46, used in some LCD monitors.
 
Here are some others to try. They are based on speculation. We know that some TVs have started to used Sony15 instead of Sony12 for discrete inputs, so it is worthwile to try Sony15 for device 1.  (Note that any device number larger than 31 will automatically be Sony15.)
