I just got a Samsung 72A650. I came right to Remote Central to update my Pronto TSU2000. I copied and pasted all the discrete codes from this thread: Samsung 2007 DLP Discrete Codes-Xpost. (I looked for the latest thread dealing w. Samsung DLP tvs) None of them work.

Can anyone help???

Thanks!!!

The easiest way find the Discrete Hex Codes you are looking for is to use MakeHex to generate all 256 possible Hex Codes for that Device.

Makehex
[Link: hifi-remote.com]

These are also helpful,

Hex2CCF
[Link: remotecentral.com]

DecodeIR.DLL
[Link: hifi-remote.com]

Documentation of protocols decoded by DecodeIr.dll is in that .zip file and also online
[Link: hifi-remote.com]

DecodeCCF.exe
[Link: hifi-remote.com]

CCF Panels (IR Panels)
[Link: remotecentral.com]

IR Tool Modified
[Link: hifi-remote.com]

Just read the read me files.

Makehex is Great program for finding Discrete`s,Cleaning up learned Hex Strings and finding hard to learn codes.

You will need to Learn a few IR Functions from the original Remote and COPY & PASTE a Hex Code into IRTOOLS to find out what IR PROTOCOL & DEVICE NUMBER Samsung are using so you can use the correct IRP File in MakeHex.

Make sure you have IRTOOL & DecodeIR.DLL in the same Folder.

Or Post some Learned Hex Codes and I can tell you how to edit the IRP file in MakeHex.

When testing all 256 Codes pay attention to how your Device is responding because you may find something your not supposed to like a SERVICE MENU.

Thanks... sorta. ... What might seem pretty basic to some, looks like quantum physics to others! (I read thru the Read Me file!)

Has anyone used this to make some easily accessible files???

Thanks!

If you Post some learned Hex Codes from the Samsung remote ( at least 5 of them with function name ). I will create a CCF file for you and email it to you to try.

OK, I need to find out how to get the Samsung remote to output discrete codes. I had a Mitsubishi, and there was a way to put it in a mode that it output discrete codes. I don't know if the Samsung can do that or not. I will check on it.

Thanks!

All you have to do is learn some IR Functions from the Samsung Remote to your Pronto Remote and COPY & PASTE Hex Code info to this Thread.

LEARN FUNCTIONS
e.g.

Digit 1
Digit 2
Digit 3
Digit 4

Then Post the Hex Code INFORMATION

e.g.
0000 006D 0000 0022 00AC 00AC 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0689

Do you know how to do this ?

I found discrete codes that work here:

[Link: remotecentral.com]

BUT... There is no discrete code for Power ON. Does anyone have that one?? BTW, I tried the 'On' code from the HLS series, but it doesn't work.

Also, I don't know how to get the remote to output a discrete 'On' code. Pushing the Power button gives the 'Toggle On/Off' code.

Thanks

OK, I may not know 'quantum physics,' but I do know logic! ... I looked at the HLS series discrete codes for 'On' and 'Off.' They were exactly the same except for two sets of numbers. The 'Off' had a 0015 where the On had a 0040 and vice versa. So, I went to the 'Off' code for the HLT series. It uses 0015 and 0041. I switched the numbers in the same spots as the HLS series - and it works!

Here is the code if anyone needs it:

0000 006c 0022 0000 00ad 00ad 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0041 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0041 0015 0015 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0015 0015 0728

(I copied it from my Pronto, so it should paste neatly).

Also, if anyone knows how to update the HLT page (that I linked to above) to add this 'On' code, I'm sure others might appreciate it.

Thanks

well done, you arrived at a correct solution by a different path.
jason quoted the program 'IRTool' above, i recommend you getting your head around that program as it will help you to identify Hex codes, and is perhaps the best first step. all you need to do is download the two files and stick them in the same folder, that way when you run it the program has a 'database' from which pull the decode.
again well done.
incidentally the code you made above is:
Protocol: NEC
Device: 7.7
Function: 153
