I'll make some general statements. Take it or leave it, I don't care.

1) If any integrator is deciding on their network brands, based on the profit they can make... they are f^n idiots!
ALL... I repeat "ALL" of the brands that market to installers about profitability, are doing so to take advantage of that installer's ignorance of the IT world. Even thou it is pretty common knowledge that margins on real network gear is very low, these unscrupulous suppliers know the enticing greed will overcome many. And they can sell their cheap re-badged equipment for high profits.
***You are getting scammed! And you are therefore scamming your customers by proxy!***

2) If you want to use quality networking gear in your installs, that is not going to give you problems and can even help fix problems - look at what large IT companies use. Look at what 5 star rated dedicated network installers use.
Your margin on the equipment sale will be based on whatever you can mark it up for (I generally do +25% on network gear).

It's the same story as always; customer asks why I'm charging $250 for a WAP they can order themselves for $200.
"You are free to do so but you are then responsible for making sure the right product is delivered and by the date the install is scheduled for".
"You are responsible for the warranty of the product and all expenses it creates - troubleshooting, etc.".
"Personally customer, I think my markup is a hell of a deal"

And if you happen to have a supplier that you can get 5-10% off of the regular selling price (in my case, making me 30-40% margin with my markup), then that's even better.

Again; any network brand that is giving you double your money profits at MSRP (or anywhere close to that) is a scam! You can lie to yourself all you want, it doesn't change reality.
