Do you make your own RJ jumpers as needed OR carry premade sizes??
Not necessarily for building clean racks but in general for daily systems, service, etc.
I'm thinking it made save a bit of space (not having a tub of premade jumpers) in the van. Trying to think of time making one versus digging out and looking for one that's "close enough".

I keep an assortment of colors & sizes, using a large bin with dividers. Usually anything under 5 meters, I use a premade.
Just saves a lot of time and aggravation over trying to make a bunch of short interconnects.

+1. Although I just stock colors black and white, 3', 5' 7' and 10'. More of the 3' and 5' because I go thru those like hotcakes.

Used thin Cat6 patch cables on the last project I worked on. They were really nice because it kept the rack a little cleaner and easier to work on!

The one thing I always do with premade patch cables, is meter them all out ahead of time. I've been burned in the past assuming these cables are good out of the package.

Wave just started carrying thin patch cables. I bought a few bags of them, but have yet to use any.

I have used many from Amazon and Unifi. All under 3m.
I may be schizophrenic, but at least I have each other.

I used to make all my patch cables but realized standing at a rack and terminating RJ45s is to time consuming and inefficient. I can terminate patch cables pretty quickly but not as fast as opening 24 packages and plugging 24 cables in.

With all the new slim patch cables available now I would rather have 2/3 colours in multiple lengths on my truck that I paid $50 in materials for than spend the time to terminate the RJ45s. The slim cables are much nicer looking and you can colour differentiate you patch cables between cameras, waps, network, AV very easily without needing to have 3 or 4 boxes of different colour cats on your truck.
You can't fix stupid

Well, I seems sticking with a box of premade is the choice among the group.
I shall carry on with what I've been doing.....Thanks for the input!!
