I used to make all my patch cables but realized standing at a rack and terminating RJ45s is to time consuming and inefficient. I can terminate patch cables pretty quickly but not as fast as opening 24 packages and plugging 24 cables in.

With all the new slim patch cables available now I would rather have 2/3 colours in multiple lengths on my truck that I paid $50 in materials for than spend the time to terminate the RJ45s. The slim cables are much nicer looking and you can colour differentiate you patch cables between cameras, waps, network, AV very easily without needing to have 3 or 4 boxes of different colour cats on your truck.
