I know that there's a help line or site for Samsung TVs. Do any of you know what it is? I've got a really strange problem with a UN55TU7000FXZA TV. It's designed to select inputs, and as of two or three days ago it is no longer selecting the proper input.

I could go on and on.... but just having that contact information will help me get it sorted out.

Thanks for any help you can give me.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

WRT "It's designed to select inputs"- how, CEC?

You might want to try defaulting it and doing the setup again, or see if it automatically updates- if it does, turn that off and check the settings to see if CEC was turned off. Do the same in the menu of the other equipment.

How are you controlling everything?

THIS is the remotecentral I remember. Only five replies, all on the first day, and great results! Thank you!*

Nope. I missed the importance of the fact that I only had one input connected.
If
you have something connected ONLY to TV Input HDMI 1
and
you try to select HDMI 2
and
the TV goes to HDMI 1
You cannot tell if it is choosing the wrong input because of something about the signal, or it's just choosing the only connected signal.
On top of that, audio did not play when it should have.

Here's an example of what I was looking for:
Press mute 7 2 9 EXIT
This toggles HDMI autodetection on and off

I haven't been to the site yet to see the results of this.

It's possible to make some other adjustments to the way the set works. Samsung provided this one to me, but the guy was loath to just tell me everything, probably because they don't want the average person, or even installer, to have this power at their fingertips.

*and a reasonably low but totally acceptable level of snark

Their TVs won't go to an unused input and the name of all unused inputs is gray.

Is this an older TV? What shows on the screen (WRT the input) when you try to select a different one?

I think that the person on the other end of the call may be new- just about every time I call any company for tech support, past experience seems non-existent and it seems that many were replaced because of COVID layoffs, firing, shut down, etc. Reps working for distributors don't know things they should, some don't even make the info available and they're wasting our time.

The last comment is aimed at SnapAV- they had no freaking idea or specs for their in-ceiling speakers with/without the enclosures that are supposed to fit on the rear, then the enclosures they sent didn't even fit on the speakers.

For the record- the rear enclosures kill the bass below 160Hz, making the speakers useless when no sub is used (in a Kitchen, bath, den, etc).

There are alternative sources for equipment to the trade besides Snap AV. Just saying.

I haven't had the opportunity to use the info I got from Samsung, but "turning off automatic functions" sounds like it will undo this.

I don't remember what it says on the screen, but I'm going out there today and I'll post it if I remember.

I supplied the model number in the first post. FYI the serial number label says it was MF'ed in July 2021.

I think that the person on the other end of the call may be new- just about every time I call any company for tech support,

But what has been your experience with Samsung?

What's the reason for flinging dung referring to your experience with SPEAKERS by SNAP in a discussion of TVS by SAMSUNG? I mean, I never liked the ride in the last few years' worth of Fiats, either, but I won't be bringing that up to paint an entirely different industry in this discussion.
Reps working for distributors don't know things they should, some don't even make the info available and they're wasting our time.

That comment is a gross generalization about a company we're not talking about and a type of product we're not talking about.

This guy knew enough about A/V to joke with me about silly things that happen in our industry, and he was focused enough to stay on the subject.

My experiences with CS and tech support since COVID have been almost universally bad and that was a specific example, not a generalization. Yes, there are some in the industry who actually know what they're talking about and Fred is definitely one of them but I don't have an account at his company, nor am I likely to satisfy their requirements for volume of future purchases. You flinging poo at me for mentioning a distributor and then mentioning the ride of a Fiat and you won't be bringing that up? You just did. GMAB!

Did you know that Snap used their purchasing power to get Samsung to stop selling to a competitor? Does that matter? I think it does.
