I have a Yamaha AX-2 amp (equivalent with the RX-V3000 receiver) and I want to use the Zone 2 features.
I already have the discrete codes for Zone 2 Power, Volume and Input on my Pronto, but I don't know where to physically connect the zone 2 amp.
Should I connect it to the preamp outputs or one of the VCR outputs?
A Yamaha doc for the RX-V1 states there are many connection possibilities and I should consult with a professional installer, but offers no real help.

I am not familiar with that receiver but if it has codes for a second zone then it should have a multi room output. Using pre amp out the receivers volume will be the master volume for the second zone and play the same source. If your amp has a volume control and the receiver has no second zone output I would connect it to a tape output.

Poulimenos,
The RX-V3000 has a clearly delineated section on the back panel with the Zone 2 audio/video outputs clearly marked. The PDF I have of the DSP-AX2 mentions Zone 2 capability but the back panels differ. If you don't see Zone 2 outputs clearly marked then I'm unclear as to how Yamaha expects you to implement Zone 2 control on this unit, unless there's some ability to re-assign another set of outputs, but Yamaha usually has more common sense.
Be aware that on the RX-V1 you cannot send any DTS encoded signal to Zone 2 and it's probably the same for your model.
Download and print the PDF from Yamaha's International website.

The Sheik is right.
Re DTS signals -- be sure that you always add an audio connection via garden variety two-channel RCAs from any digital equipment where you might want the signal to go to a second zone.
Also, I have Hitachi DVD demo disc where one of the cuts -- of a Japanese orchestra playing classical music -- gives no audio on the digital outputs, but only from the RCAs. Confuses the heck out of me, but it makes me cover myself by always including regular RCAs from the DVD outputs.

A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.
