I have to share this with all of my friends on this great jewel of a place, Remote Central. I recently posted about a great opportunity to work on a project for a Green Bay Packer and Super Bowl Champion. It was not a huge job but it was a total makeover from a Bose surround sound to a very nice surround sound system, with an mx-880. We also fixed his game room up and used an old avr he had laying around to make his x-box skills come alive. We also put in 8 cameras thanks to the great icrealtime and fixed all of the network issues and added a kp-900 to control his patio speakers.

I then received an incredible PM from a fellow CI who most of you know as Duct Tape. Also a very serious, hard core Packer fan. He offered to help make custom graphics for the mx-880 and boy did he ever! I know that no one but CI's and especially programmers understand the dedication and hard work that goes into how to make something so custom that leave other CI's speechless. Not only was the work he did incredibly pationate, but to my amazement very moving for the customer. When Duct Tape sent me the final project and I downloaded it to an 880 at my desk, I was absolutely floored and extremely motivated on an entirely different level. I have not asked permission to show you what he programmed but I can tell you that the "rf wait screen" is now a video of the customer playing in the super bowl!

I told the customer the entire story and wanted him to know a very passionate Packer fan and extremely gifted CI guy wanted to do this for him. He was taken back. I delivered the remote to him today and was not ready for the reaction I witnessed. He immediately saw the football icons and cool packer logo but I asked him to pay close attention when he activated the watch tv macro. After pressing the command, and recognizing the exact play that was on the video a slightly awkward but moving reaction by the customer took place. He got a little choked up and had a moment that I guess only a super bowl champion would understand. Then he said the words, incredible, just incredible.

In all my jobs in life put together, I have never experienced a moment like that.

There may not be an award givin out for such an act but in my book and where I come from, that is the best it gets.

Duct Tape, maybe even u didn't realize that something you created would have such deep meaning for both me and most importantly your biggest fan, A Super Bowl champion.

May God bless your business dude!
May all that your hand touches turn to blessing.
I hope you don't mind me sharing this with your fellow CI guys.

Incredible

That's an awesome story. With all the crap we have to deal with everyday, it's nice to hear something positive for a change. I sure hope Julie picks up on this story and does an article over at CePro. Way to go Nez and Duct Tape!!! :)

Great story! A friend of mine, who is in our business as a manufacturer, always told me "all togheter, we know everything, we can do anything. But we have to talk to each other."

Your story reflect it so much...

Great story. It's nice when people appreciate your efforts and your work.

Great job to Duct tape for hooking you up.

And great job to you for wanting to give the customer something he can't get anywhere else.

This will pay dividends for both of you in the long run.

That's awesome.  I'm glad he liked it.  I've wanted to do this type of thing for a Packer fan for awhile now.  I've never imagined that I would actually be able to do it for an actual Green Bay Packer.

You made my year by allowing me to take part in this.   Thanks Nezbo.  If you want to post photos or a video of the animation, that is fine by me.
