Thanks for the info.

I'm coming around to your view, that Via is more suited to cookie-cutter jobs. Unfortunately, that is not the type of jobs we are doing. More than likely, I'll be off to Jersey in the late summer or fall to learn a little crestron programming.

I love to put my codes in as soon as they come in. Again, unfortunately, sometimes this new product comes in the day it is to be installed. What can I do? I'm just the programmer...

Nice tip on programming the presets on the tuner with the actual station number rather than preset number. So much nicer than having to learn what 1 is, or 2 or 3.

Also, have you done an audio request with via yet? The easiest programming ever.

Thanks,

Mick

Once you do this, save the template for that
component complete with IR codes.

An example: Parasound TDQ-150 Tuner w/ 9 presets

Once the IR codes for these components are learned
and assigned to each button, save that template
as Parasound Tuner, etc. Sell like components
in most of the jobs and the Via!s can actually
be programmed and downloaded in 10 minutes!

Other than some of the new products/revisions,
I know Elan better than some of their tech guys
(I've even taught some of the classes for AVEC/Z/HD),
so don't hesitate to ask me if you have any problems.

Maybe this is asking too much, but could you share the templates you have? I have a job coming up that has almost the same equipment you describe, and it would be a great help to me.

Thanks in advance,

JJP
