I ahve an harmony 890 and it has been working great until i just got a dish network VIP 612 DVR. it will not operate the DVR using the wireless extendor (IR extendor).

Any idea why? Pls help.

Every dish receiver I have seen in the last several years has been shipped in rf mode. You can re-set it to ir mode in the dish setup menu.

Just curious...did Dish not provide you with a manual? Nothing would surprise me there days.

ALL DISH UNITS ARE RF OUT OF BOX YOU MUST PERFORM THIS PROCEDURE

1.Press SYS INFO button to display current
remote address.
2.Press and hold SAT button for three
seconds until all of the mode buttons
light up and then release.
3.Use numeric keypad to enter the new
address (1-16). Use address #1 for IR
operation
4.Press POUND (#) button. If you entered
the address correctly, the remote will flash
three times.
5.Press the record button. Note: Insure that
the new address shown on screen is the
number that you entered.
6.Press the SELECT/OK button to close
the sys info screen.

Use address #1
