Since the March 18, 2008 Ver 1.10.125 live update of the MX-950 software/firmware, nested macros stop working midway thru the macro. An example of a macro where this occurs is my macro for the DIRECTV DVR as a press and hold macro: 1. TV ON 2. AMP ON 3. SAT ON 4. DELAY ON (audio delay for TV) 5. AMP SRC SAT 6. DELAY INPUT A 7. TV WAIT (wait for DLP power up) 8. SAT HDMI1 (TV input) 9. GOTO SAT - P1 All steps above are nested macros that use variables. All variables have initial state of 0. If I remove the battery and reboot the remote into an initial state with all variables set to 0; something like the following happens: Press and hold DIRECTV_DVR LCD button from WATCH panel. - TV powers on - AMP powers on - macro execution stops; no other macros executed and the jump is not taken If I press and hold the same button again - TV already on no action taken - AMP already on no action taken - SAT turns on - Delay turns on - macro execution stops; no other macros executed and the jump is not taken This same scenario occurs until I've pressed and held the button 4 or so times, each time advancing further into the macro. The macro eventually completes and takes the jump. Has anyone seen this problem before? Version information: MX-950 SW 1.10.125 FW: 1.39 IR DB: 1.83 Regards, Alan Minchew

I have had the same experience with all of my MX-950s. The macros hang at the end of the nested macro.

Similar thing here (although I didn't notice which update caused it). It's not actually ALL of my nested macros though - it seems to be only the activity switching ones on the watch/listen pages. They became completely unreliable - stopping partially through more often than not. I have other nested macros for help pages and access to settings to tweak, and those seem to still work fine. Both the ones that work and the ones that don't use variables, so that's not the common denominator...

I just noticed the same problem with the "Off" hard button on the Watch screen (and I assume the Listen screen). Multiple presses of the Off button to turn the whole system off.

I am also using MX-950 SW 1.10.125 FW: 1.39 IR DB: 1.83 the same as aminchew. Yesterday, I tweaked several of the screens to add favorite channels to the soft buttons and downloaded the new profile to the remote. When I tried to run the macro to switch to my cable box, the macro would hang and I needed to remove the battery to regain control of the remote I loaded the original programming that I got with the remote, which worked perfectly until I started to use this latest software, and it too would hang on the macro. I reset the remote to the default configuration, and loaded the original programming again and again, no joy! I loaded an older version of the editor software, downloaded from the URC website, on to my laptop and downloaded the original programming to the remote. It was back to its' old self, but without my tweaks. Bug in this version?

I un-installed the Live Update capable version (from my original post) and installed the URC web site version. The exact same configuration file now works again. The above version above has some problems. The non-Live Update version used was: MX-950 Version 1.10.105 F/W: 1.37 IR DB: 1.80 Also, the un-install was not very clean. It reported success, but the install of the non-live update version failed because several files not being removed. I manually deleted the files and tried the install again without the failure.

I tried the recently updated Live Update capable version and it still fails. The Live Update version used was: MX-950 Version 1.10.130 F/W: 1.39 IR DB: 1.83 It appears to me F/W rev 1.39 has the problem and F/W 1.37 is OK.

It appears that there are bugs in the latest version that are affecting a lot of us. Check out my thread on the problem I'm having with my MX 3000 and the latest version. I also saw a thread from someone with an 810 that was having a similar problem as well. What gives?

Did this get resolved? I've done a live update to 1.10.131?

URC is investigating and troubleshooting the situation with the 900,950, etc and is not going to commnt on this until they are sure they can test each and every scenario.

Byron I just updated to the newest version last night to finally test my 950s in anger and I gather this is not fixed? It's wierd as nested macros sometimes work and sometimes not. I presume my best strategy is to install and old version and download to the remotes? Is there any problems in doing this? I actually didn't system restore last time as I wasn't ready. Ta Byron

It's broken... for me, the nested macros seem to work, only if you don't have other logic before them. In my experience moving a simple page flip to the bottom of the macro after any variable setting seemed to make that work. Unfortunatly, all your macro definitions are lost if you add/import/change any device. Even simply adding an LCD button....
