I am not looking for the fancy software, I am just wanting to do some basic stuff with my remote, e.g. set my Samsung TV, Denon AVR and Spectrum cable box to all properly coordinate for watching TV. Streaming off the TV doesn't take much, we rarely watch DVDs/Blu-Rays anymore, but getting all our devices set for watching cable tv takes a lot of remotes/button pushes.

Can I just get MX-990 to create a cable TV watching mode by keying stuff into the remote manually ? If so, where is there guidance on doing this?

And if it is not obvious, I am not looking to use the fancy software or pay someone else to do it.

Thank You!

There is NO manual programming of any URC CCP remote (including the MX-990). You HAVE to have the programming software in order to program it.

A current model from URC, that is programmed on the remote and requires no software, is the MX-490. You could also look for the recently discontinued MX-450.
