What I would like to do is have a favorites button on my URC MX-XXX to select a specific channel on my ROKU devices. I do have an Ultra that uses IR. I can control it just like a ROKU remote, but it still needs a lot of clicks to get to whenere one wants at any given time.

Thanks in Advance.

Do you mean like Prime, Netflix, etc?

Not exactly. I do not use any of those. I would like to set up a macro to select a specific channel, such as PBS, Blomberg, News Now, Pluto Etc.

Ok, you are referring to apps on the Roku device. You should be able to create a macro to navigate the Roku menu and "open" the selected app as long as you don't move any of the apps in the menu or you'll have to redo your macros. You should be able to use the Home command to get to a known point to maneuver to a specific app.

This code should work for Home if you don't have home already programmed:
0000 006D 0044 0022 0157 00AB 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 05E7 0157 00AB 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 05E7 0157 00AB 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 05E7

If you are using Live TV within Roku here is the code to get there:
0000 006D 0044 0022 0157 00AB 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 05E7 0157 00AB 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 05E7 0157 00AB 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0015 0040 0015 0040 0015 0015 0015 05E7

Yes, I am referring to the apps. Thanks for all that code. Unfortunately, I have no idea how to implement it or read it for that matter. :( My expertise stops at Jump and Program in CCP.

I do get what you are saying about setting up the Roku so I know where the apps are then using the remote macros to navigate to the one I want as if I was actually using the Roku remote.

In English:

Home
right
right
down
select

The Roku does default to home even when restarted, which is handy I guess.

Thanks again.

With my Roku's recently, pressing right cursor once to go from the HOME to the upper left app, it skips to the Ad on the far right. :( Pressing left cursor once jump you to that upper left app. You can't rely on macros to switch to given app.

There are many apps that have discrete commands available that all you need is a cheap UEI made universal remote like this Onn 6 at Walmart:

[Link: walmart.com]

Or this Insignia from Best Buy:

[Link: bestbuy.com]

The commands include:

google play 00022

rdio 00026

you tube 00032

deezer 00054

prime video 00082

ted 00084

spotify 00086

pandora 00088

red bull 00090

cbs AA/Paramount+ 00128

yupp tv 00130

vudu 00138

showtime 00149

hulu 00151

hbo max 00153

WWW network 00180

crackle 00181

the CW 00182

happy kids tv 00184

starz 00222

roku ch 00118

netflix 00148

espn 00187

apple tv 00073

disney+ 00070
discovery + 00039

To map those codes to key on the UEI remote:

1. Roku device with setup code 3061
2. Press and hold SETUP for two blinks, release
3. enter 9 9 4
4. press SETUP for one blink
5. enter 5-digit code from above
6. pick a key

Once mapped to the button, you can teach it to whatever learning universal you want.

There are numeral commands 0-9 for use with Roku Ch Live Guide on stand alone Roku like the Ultra or Express that take IR commands:

0- 00101
1- 00230
2- 00232
3- 00228
4- 00235
5- 00231
6- 00233
7- 00100 or 00108
8- 00106 or 00114
9- 00102 or 00110

Ch UP- 00183
Ch Down- 00185

As for Pluto tv, only Roku tv's have 5-digit code for it, its 00120. Stand-Alone Roku have never received efc for Pluto tv. Sorry.

Sorry, I listed codes to use for URC remotes like an MX-850. You'll need to work with the instructions that Edmund listed.

I am using CCP and a MX-880 that controls another 5 devices in my system. It is not an option to introduce another device, kinda defeats the object.

I am currently disconnecting cable and using an Antenna, TV Apps and Roku for content.

I would like to make it as seamless as possible. using CCP and my stash of MX-880 Remotes.

I'm confused by your post.
Why is adding another device not an option? You can program up to 48 devices into an MX-880? But also why would you want to add another device? Not of that is clear, vs what we were talking about.

The MX-880 has a FAV button. Where you can add 6 apps to jump to on each page. Following Edmund's directions, you can add every app jump you want except for the Pluto TV.

Also - You do know that you can rearrange the apps on the Roku Home screen right? You can put all the apps you use in the order you want and delete apps you don't want or use.
You are making it sound like you have 50+ apps on your Roku scattered everywhere and takes forever to scroll to the ones you want. Something doesn't sound right.

I meant another UEI remote.

I have a couple of Roku Devices I am playing with on the 880. It is the programming to get directly to an App that is the issue.

Yes, I want to jump to an App that has been added not the default ones. I cannot jump to the PBS app or the Bloomberg App directly... or can I?

Yup, of course.

Nope, just 6 in this order.

CBS News - Bloomberg - PBS
AlJazera - Haystack News - First Coast News

ALL other apps have been removed. I would like to hit a button/macro or whatever on the 880 to jump to each of these channels. THe idea is minimal clicks to get to a media source.

I hope that makes things clearer.

Regards,

I have managed to program some Roku channels to my 880. PBS, Haystack, CBS and Bloomberg. A lot of trial and error and varying delay times as Roku is slow to initiate the connection.

I guess that is the only way. It is a bunch of delays, switching of the AVR's input and a bunch of arrows before the select.

There are codes that go directly to the assigned app. Meaning "One IR Code" and it will jump to the app.
You just need to purchase the UEI remote that Edmond mentioned in his post, learn those codes into your MX880! You do not use the UEI remote in your system, you use it as a tool to program your MX880.

I'm not sure how to make it any clearer than that.
You do not need to do it the way you are doing it.

[edit]:
I went back and re-read your posts. It appears some of the problem is, you don't know how to fully program your MX880 properly? You are going to need to learn the software some, before getting this right. There are programming guides under the 'help' tab in the software.

I do know, I have been using CCP for 15 years. I was confused about the UEI remote being used as a tool and not a replacement for the 880. I am sorry for that.

I understand learn etc. I am however confused about how to find the code for the installed apps on the Roku. This would sure solve my issue though if it works.

What UEI remote would be a good choice and how do I find the codes for the Roku channels?

I re-read your post above and understand now what you were trying to explain to me. I am sorry I did not get it at first.

You listed some codes; is there anywhere I can get a list of codes for the ROKU channels?

I would like to see a complete list, but for now I would like the following:

Bloomberg
Haystack
CBS News
Aljazeera
PBS
YouTube
NBC News

I will get my hands on a UEI remote for the task, Thanks
