Confirmed this works on Windows 11 too. Thanks! Do you have the Pro or Home version? I am hoping this will work on the Home Version of Windows 11

Hi Folks, Been ages since Ive needed to fiddle with my remote/s. I have 2 MX-980's and a MX-880. Anyways, I'm having a hell of a time getting them to connect to my pc after putting Windows 10 on. Windows 10 Home 64 bit(10.0 Build 1904 In 'Device Manager/Mobile Devices' it shows up as 'URC USB Sync MX2' I have added the command prompt scripts as above and both completed successfully. In 'Device Manage/Other Devices' there is 'Unknown Device' with an exclamation mark, I'm assuming it has something to do with that, No matter what I do, I cant seem to get "Windows Mobile-2003-based device connectivity" to show in 'Services' Any advice appreciated I’ve been trying to get this working on windows 11 all afternoon. And this is the same problem I’ve got. Although I’ve installed WMDC it cannot be found in the computer. It’s not in Services. In fact a search of the hard drive shows nothing with that name. Compass said in a later post that he had worked it out, but unfortunately didn't say how Any help greatly appreciated

Thank you for this 🙏. Had no issues with my 990 but was at it for quite a bit with my 980 since updating to Win 11.

@Merv, sorry I never saw your post until I needed to research how to install CCP on a new Win11 pc, hope you have it sorted by now. I copy/pasted the entire URC program folder from the old Win10 C/Program Files(x86) to the new Win11 Program Folders(x86) then followed the below instructions to get the new Win11 pc talking to the remote(MX980 in this case), [Link: urcfaq.knowledgeowl.com]

Try creating a new user account on your Windows 7 computer and install it there.

Thanks, tried that but the same result. Its probably more a windows issue than a remote control one, so will see if I can get windows help and post the solution if I get it here.

You have to install Windows Mobile Device Center (WMDC). Not sure how to get that to work on a Win7 machine but here is a link to articles that will get you going: [Link: junipersys.com]

I vaguely remember having issues with the mobile device driver version a long time ago. This is the filename I've got: drvupdate-amd64.exe File version 6.0.5824.16387 Just curious by why are you running Windows 7 instead of 10?

I was trying to get CCP running on an Apple MacBook Pro M1 (Apple silicon). using Parallels 18 and Windows 11 Arm installed as a VM. CCP installed ok, but getting Windows Mobile Device Centre to install was the real problem . The install file (drvupdate-amd64.exe) despite its name is the install program and an update. When installing it should install the driver update first, and then the program. Unfortunately it will only install the update. There is no indication that its failed. The install just stops and ends before the second part. Your reply got me thinking about this again, so I installed VMware Fusion Player 13.5 & Windows 11 Arm (Fusion Player has a free license for non-commercial use). I was hoping that maybe it was a Paralells problem and that Fusion Player might succeed, but it does exactly the same thing. So as far as the new Macs with M processors, I’ve had to admit defeat. What I have got that works is an older Intel based MacBook Pro. this has Parallels 18 and a Windows 11 VM. WMDC installs fine. You also need to instal WMDC-fixes-for-Win10.msi file from junipersys.com. Merv
