I have re-installed CCP on my desktop computer as I needed to clean re-install the operating system, Windows 7 Ultimate. CCP now fails the upgrade process. It worked fine before and it also works fine on my laptop running Windows Home premium. I've set the program to run an as an administrator.
I've also tried compatibility modes: Windows XP Service pack 3 and Windows Vista Service pack 2
It hangs up with the error message "Fail to save patch file" and the hang point is at: "Download: Usb\drvupdate-amd64.exe, 12989380" I've searched this site but cannot find a solution. Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks Keith Lingenfelter

I never has issues with installation, so I can't help you there. What did Tech Support said when you called them?

I've not called URC tech support. In the past (many years ago) tech support would not give me the time of day. I have two MX 980's one purchased from Myer Emco (A high end audio dealer in the Washington DC area) and the other from Surf Remote. Both sold me the devices in accoradance with URC's policies. Myer Emco went bankrupt.
I've sent an email to Surf Remote to see if I can get a more up to date version of the CCP software (mine is many years old).
Will URC actually help me these days? I'm not a registered installer or dealer just a knowledgable hobbist.

Try reinstalling? Usually administrator privileges are the issue here. Did you install CCP as an administrator?

I uninstalled CCP and now I'm getting an error at install that says that the file cannot be found if I try running as an administrator (the file is right where it's been for years). If I try running it normally (not as administrator) it says that the version of windows I'm using is incompatible with the program. The only thing that has changed since the program ran fine is normal Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate upgrades that Windows installs itself. Otherwise the computer configuration is the same as it was before a did the full reinstall of Windows 7 Ultimate. Frustrating Keith

One additional point. I installed CCP right after the re-install of Windows 7 Ultimate. It then updated to service pack 1 for Windows 7 Ultimate. Perhaps before the Microsoft update to Service Pack 1 the CCP program would install now it won't. I don't remember if the old install of Windows 7 had Service pack 1 installed. Could this be the problem?

I got a newer version from the last dealer I purchased from and this version installed fine. In fact the lockup point noted above never came up, so this version must already have the update that cause the hangup.

Myer is back in business. It's now called Myer Connex. I'm sure they'd be happy to have a return client and earn your business. Give them a holler...

Yes they are. I got the S/W from surf remote the dealer I purchased my second MX980 from, but I'll get back in touch with Myer Connex. It looks like they do high end installs for home theaters and automated housing though, and I do all this stuff myself (my hobby). They desided to stop trying to compete with the big box stores. Anyway when I update my old 80 inch RPCRT Mits HDTV (a 12 yer old veteran) with the new sharp (or other 90 inch flat panel) I'll call them for a price.
