I recently purchased a Monoprice HDX-402E 4x2 HDMI Matrix. Trying to get the remote to work, but not having much luck. I have tried Learn-1 and Learn-2 with my 980, but even though the learning says it works, the signal doesn't work when I test.

I have looked for discrete codes and the closest I have came was a Pronto file from this site. When I looked at the IR hex in ProntoEdit NG, it shows as follows:

"900A 006D 0000 0001 00FF 01FE"

From my reading, the 900A is not something I can copy and paste in the universal browser and drag to a button. That's about as far as my knowledge goes. Can anyone assist in walking me through how to get this code to work in my URC or propose an alternate solution? Thanks!

have you tried the codes in the URC database?    Device number 663

an alternative solution would be RS232 with an MSC400.

Tried the codes. Only 1 code listed in the AUX for Monoprice and it didn't work. I have a MSC-400, but have no familiarity with RS-232.

Okay...working on getting the codes in... Did you have a power code? I have to do some creative furniture movement to get to my wiring closet, so I can only test the power button outside the closet (as the switch needs HDMI power connections to A1-A2, etc. to test). The .pcf code for power is:

"900A 006D 0000 0001 00FF 01FE"

Power did not work but I have been unable to test the others since I haven't wired yet. Other suggestions?

is the matrix mounted close to the msc400?   the serial protocol looks pretty simple. You would most likely need a female serial cable.

Set up the port for 9600,n,8,1

Commands need to be set for Hex

If I am understanding the protocol sheet correctly.

Are you using CCP? or the stand alone editors?

Sorry for the delay... had to put the kids down.
I'll have to invest in a RS-232 cable as I don't have one. The matrix is on the shelf above the MSC.

I am using CCP.

it wouldn't hurt to pick up a male to female 9 pin null modem adapter while you are at it.  just in case you need to make the cable into a crossover.

if you need help entering the codes into ccp, let me know, and I'll email you a file.

I did pick up a null modem cable, so I do have that. =)
I ended up wiring everything in. None of the codes are working, but that didn't surprise me since the Pwr hex wasn't working.

If you are open to sharing a file, I would take you up on it in a heartbeat. As I mentioned, the RS-232 is new to me... Everything I run is pretty much IR linked to the MSC-400.

Since I would run the Matrix from a closet, I assume I would need to pick up a MSC-400 RS232F cable to run this. Correct?

yep, grab the female rs232 cable and let me know when you get it wired up.  shoot me an email and I'll send you a ccp file that you can use to import into your own file.

I got all the HDX-402E codes into my URC MX-900 remote using the learn function. I ended up using the press once method, but had to learn several of the codes with repeated attempts.

Now I would like to be able to reliably power the switch on and off with the rest of my set-up. At this time I am leaving the switch powered 24/7.

Does anyone have hex codes for discrete power on and off for a Monoprice HDX-402E or any other of the Monoprice HDMI switches?
Don't use a big word when a diminutive one will suffice.
