Really, the best way to get these functions to work is to invest $20 in a different remote. The RCA-RCRP05B, OneForAll URC-8820 or 10820 remotes are all less than $20. The RCA can be picked up at BestBuy, and all are available through the Internet.
Use Setup code Audio 1658 (with these remotes, drop the leading 3 from the setup codes).
I think that nearly all the functions will work without entering EFCs, but the remotes use the same sort of EFC programming as the Comcast remote. If you do buy one of these, the above EFCs will still work, but we'll have to post the EFCs for device 16.16 functions. Let us know if we need to post them.
