I wonder if a quick solution RTI could implement would be to buffer the first button press on an idle remote, and then send it out immediately upon making the Zigbee connection. You'd still have that awkward delay, but at least it will send that power on or mute macro that's needed. Instead now, it ignores all button presses until the connection is made.
