Hi,
There is no real issue but more potential for things to have an issue.
When you send a database code only a very samll amount of data is sent but when you send a hex or learnt ir code the full string is sent. This is a lot of extra data. That means the system needs to work harded and if you are on the fring of reception there is more potential for the code not to get through.
The beauty about the z-wave system is the ability to confirm that the code was sent and if it did not get through the remote resends the code. I had a job where sometime the TV macro would take 2-3 times longer than normal. I discovered a dodgy learnt code (the remote was resending the code until it was recieved correctly) in the programming. After changing to a database code the problem went away.
I will pass on your issues with the Denon codes to Nevo.
