Hey All,
Has anyone ever managed to find out if the Scientific Atlanta 8300HD cable box has descrete Power On / Power Off codes.
I have looked everywhere and nothing.....
I even looked at changing out the box for the Comcast Motorola cable box which has descrete codes but the Motorola box wont work in South Florida..
Any Ideas other than leaving the box on all the time.

There may be discretes...sort of. Go into the settings and see if there is an option called "Power On Keys". Select the option for this "Power and Numeric". This will allow you to power up the box with a 0(zero) which won't change channels, and 0(zero) delay 2 sec, power which will turn it off.
Not all models have this software but it's certainly worth a try.
