One easy way of working around your situation is to create a two homepage configuration.

The main home page would have all the activities and all the power commands. Each activity would power up all sources in the system.

Once in an activity - for example Watch TV - a reference to a second home page would be used to switch activities. This second home page would not have any power commands.

A Goodnight Activity would confirm you want to shut the system down - send all the power commands to turn off all the sources and displays then provide a page jump to the main home page.

Using this technique you need to re-program the right side hard button to reference your second homepage once into an activity or use it for a different function other than a page jump to the main homepage.
