It uses the same input code everytime. If the remote actually cycled through the discretes, let's say TV,Video 1, video 2, Aux...then you could take the remote and started at TV then push the input button and get Video 1 then put it under a pillow and hit it again, the next time you went to your TV it theoretically would skip video 2 and go straight to Aux since the command was sent to your pillow and missed the TV....it's late. I have no idea if that makes any sense or not.

Many times another similar TV, in your case Sony LCD, will carry functional discrete codes if you cannot find them for your specific TV. The discretes I found for my 45" Sharp LCD actually came from commands I found from a 32" Sharp LCD and they work great!
