Honestly, I would recommend the Q50. Let me explain: Nevo's latest programming software and hardware all works together, while the SL is an older model and is the only one that still requires Nevo Studio, the older program. Nevo is clearly going in the direction of these new products, so if I were just starting out with Nevo, I'd want to go in that direction too, rather than buy a product they have already discontinued.

Another thing- the Q50 is a great remote! It has a really useful combination of hard keys and touchscreen and a nice feel in the hand. If you can just exchange at the same price, I think it's the way to go.
