Has anyone tried to skip prontoedit, and just enter XML stuff directly to create your config file? If so, does anyone have any sort of notes, or scripts to start doing this?

My thought was I'm planning on doing an XP type interface like several other people have, and it seems like I could whip up a simple Perl library to create the interface, and manage my IR codes, so that modifications/etc are alot easier, debug is easier, etc. (Plus that damned gallery is so slow, it would probably get created much easier)

Just wondered if someone else has already tried this.
