Yes, Dish only supplies RF remotes now, BUT all of their receivers incl the 811 will respond to IR codes. Go the the Pronto files section and pull down a config for the 811 (or really any dish model using codeset 1), and you should be able to convert these to RTI. You have to make sure the receiver ID is set to 1, which it should be as that is usually the default. Some Dish models have a utility in the setup that will actually send IR codes for teaching a univeral remote, but I'm not sure about the 811. Also, the 811 has both a IR receiver and a IR blaster on the front panel (for controlling VCRs,etc). If you are using an IR flasher, make sure to put it over the IR receiver not the blaster. The blaster is purple/blue in color.
