Hey Jen, my RM-LP204 had the same problem and I'm still waiting for a replacemnet from Sony. My dealer did get me a another remote however Sony sent an RM-LJ302 as the replacement but it didn't have the exact same functions as my original remote. It was a better model (albeit a 1999 model) but it didn't have as many codes as the RM-LP204 which I needed. Hope things work out better for you.
