It should actually be spelt without the K; i.e. nobble.

Dictionary.com says . . .

nob·ble
tr.v. Chiefly British nob·bled, nob·bling, nob·bles

To disable (a racehorse), especially by drugging.
To win (a person) over.
To outdo or get the better of by devious means.
To filch or steal.
To kidnap.
