I long for the day when BT finally gets of its great big corporate backside and gives me a landline capable of more than 512k; I must confess I do resent the fact I pay the same as someone who, having had the good fortune to be in a more advantageous locale (closer to the exchange), is able to obtain anything up to 8M.

As you say, however, whilst I might bemoan the lack of "real" broadband speed, there is no way in this world I would ever go back to dial up.
