That method of mailing it to yourself is an old myth. Unfortunately there are people who can remove and replace items in a sealed envelope because it is not sealed at the edges, so it is not valid in court. Just opening the envelope to prove your case, destroys your evidence, making it unuseable. The best is to keep the originals and documentation with date stamps and/or a witness to sign and attest to the copywrite holder.
