I use a Marantz so I may be wrong about this 'cuz Marantz's are different. On the macro side, I don't believe you can change the right/left hard key functions. I don't think there's any tab for the right and left buttons in macro group properties for you to create an action list. It was designed that way to facilitate programming on the remote itself as opposed to using the software.
