Yes, The Pronto works fine with regular batteries. Also, a bit more background...initially, my charger would not work, but the Pronto would get juice from the NiMh (it would just say that the battery is dangerously low). When I tried Bruce's fix (clean the connectors with an eraser) the charger would work, but now the Pronto is not getting power from the NiMh.
