Hi,

I've recently purchased a HK Take Control and though I'd share my views with the group :

1. When using the tumbwheel to change channel etc, it often (about 25%) sends the wrong 'direction' code. This only seems to happen on the first 'click' - subsequent clicks are OK. This means that when I click forward to change channels up, the TV changes _down_ one channel, then back up again.

Does anyone else get this, or is my unit faulty?

It seems to send the wrong codes for all 'buttons' assigned to the thumbwheel, not just TV (e.g. whilst I'm on the 'Watch DVD' screen, the thumbwheel is programmed to Fast Forward and Reverse, and the first click still gets reversed)

2. The unit takes a little too long to change between activity screens for my liking. I often find myself waiting for a screen to come up.

3. It wont learn the codes for changing the sound field from my Sony STR-DB925 receiver/decoder. I suspect that as this amp uses a remote which can both send and receive, there is some sort of sequence or conversion taking place which the TC remote can't learn.

4. There seems to be no support contact for anyone outside the US. I'm in the UK, and would like to report the above (esp #1) but there seems to be no channel of communication here. Unfortunately, 1-800 numbers don't work from the UK.

Other than those minor niggles, I'm really pleased with it - esp. the desktop software.

Regards,

/Neil/
