Yes, cb1 really came up with a good solution for this problem. He has given this information to others with Mitsubishi TV’s 4-5 times in the past, but it comes up so rarely I forgot about it completely. The procedure he gave you is specifically for newer model Mits TV’s, and I don’t believe any other original equipment remotes have similar procedures.

As far as the learn codes, there are only 4 of them for your tv, so try them all and see which works best. The AV3000 often does not supply all needed functions, but it is a learning remote so you just teach it what you need.

Cb1 loves discrete codes, but I love them more, so I will jump in and give you a briefing on them. I recently replied to another poster who wanted to know about discrete codes, so I will give you that link and you can go there and learn about them, and then ask any questions you may have. Discrete codes are fascinating, and they will give you the ultimate control of your equipment, so I recommend them whenever I can.
