Yep I've done this for all of my devices,
for example the "DVD" device turns on the amplifier, turns on the TV to the right channel/input, turns on the DVD player, puts the amplifier on the right input, puts the amplifier on a decent DSP mode.
I'm then ready to play a DVD after one keypress.
