I tried gimp, and it was fine for an icon I had to modify. But yeah, even though the concepts of modifying graphics (layers, selection, etc.) are similar across graphics programs, some things I wanted to do wasn't intuitive and took longer than I had hoped. I think I'll try PSP next.
